Description
Carbomer 940, also called Carbopol or Carboxypoly-methylene is a generic name for synthetic high molecular weight polymers of
acrylic acd used as thickening, dispersing, suspending and emulsifying agents in pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. They may be
homopolymers of acrylic aid, crosslinked with an allyl ethe pentaerythritl, allyl ethe of sucrose or allyl ethr of
propylen. Carbomers are found in the market as white and fluffy powders. They have the ability to absorb, retain water and swell to many times their original volume. Carbomers codes (910, 934, 940, 941 and 934P) are an indication of molecular weight and the specific components of the polymer .
This product is acrylic bonded allyl sucrose or pentaerythritl allyl ethe polymer. Calculated on dry goods, including carboxylic
acid group (-cooh) group - should be 56. O % ~ 68. O %.
Carbopol/Carbomer has good thickening, hydropphilic gelating, viscosity,emulsifying,suspending and film-forming properties.

Carbomer 940 is ion intolerant and is commonly used in water formulations with low ion concentration and less surfactant, mainly to regulate the rheological properties of products, the carbomer after neutralization is an excellent gel matrix, which has important applications such as thickening suspension, simple process, good stability, and is widely used in emulsions, creams and gels.
